Mazisheti Launches Sustainable Development Program in Vafgaon Village, Pune

Pune, Vafgaon: In an effort to boost agricultural growth and enhance students' career opportunities, the rural village of Vafgaon, District Pune, has officially launched the MIDAS Project for sustainable development. The program, inaugurated by the village Sarpanch and Grampanchayat leaders, saw the active participation of Mazisheti Director and his team, alongside engaged citizens.

The agenda focused on knowledge dissemination about sustainable practices aimed at improving farmers' income by at least 30%. The program includes farmer onboarding, where participants receive crop-specific and stage-wise training. This initiative emphasizes value addition to farm produce through techniques such as sorting, grading, and the production of by-products, helping farmers to secure better prices at Agricultural Produce Market Committees (APMC).

Apart from agricultural development, the MIDAS Project extends its support to local students. Students from the project area receive an annual stipend of ₹12,000, alongside hands-on training in various career fields. The program also focuses on preparing students for both physical and mental competitions, such as athletic events, as well as government exams like MPSC and UPSC. The professional mentorship initiative ensures that students gain self-confidence, self-reliance, and business acumen. Those who complete the program are given placement opportunities within Mazisheti or other partnering companies.

Impact of the Initiative:

By integrating agricultural training with student development, Mazisheti aims to achieve a dual impact: boosting farmer incomes and ensuring holistic career development for students. The value addition through farm produce processing is expected to streamline farmers' market access, resulting in a minimum 30% increase in their income. Simultaneously, students receiving hands-on training and career mentorship will be better equipped to succeed in both business and competitive sectors, fostering the next generation of rural entrepreneurs and professionals.

This initiative aligns with Mazisheti's broader goal of promoting rural sustainable development through education, technology integration, and community support.
